Bread for the World

In 2023, I finally decided that I wanted to help people in need, especially children.

As I feel connected to the Protestant Church in Germany even though I don't consider myself a believer, after doing some research I decided to make a permanent monthly donation to the german aid organisation Bread for the World.

Bread for the World is an aid organization of the Protestant churches in Germany that works worldwide to promote justice, peace, and the eradication of hunger and poverty.
It supports projects in countries of the Global South to create sustainable livelihoods for people through education, agricultural development, and access to clean water.
It also promotes the protection of human rights and the strengthening of civil society structures. The Evangelical Church is also politically active in combating global injustices and promoting fairer conditions in world trade.

Bread for the World was was founded in 1959 and is now one of the largest aid organizations in Germany.
Every year it supports over 1,500 projects in around 90 countries of the global South. In 2022, the organization collected around 76 million euros in donations and collections, bringing the total budget to around 300 million euros, including government grants.
With around 600 employees worldwide, Bread for the World works in areas such as food security, education, health and climate protection.
The organization attaches great importance to transparency and regularly publishes annual reports that provide detailed insights into its work.
